Putting a New Spin on an Old Design

I've been having a lot of fun lately researching old magazine issues on Google to see how washing machines and dishwashers have been marketed through the bulk of the 20th century. Here's a few of the gems I dug up:

I think my favorite part of these (aside from the blatant stay-at-home mother marketing) is noticing that almost every unit has had minimal change (aside from a new coat of paint). The internal jets are still relatively the same design, marketers aim for trending colors for the external, but when everything is said and done, it's still a large metal box with painted wire racks.
